Had a great day at the Stalybridge Handmade Market on Saturday. Met lovely people . Must now get down to listing my new buttons onto my website shop. They will £8 a card including delivery as from next week until the end of August.
On Sunday I had a stall at the W.I Rag Market, it is just for materials, for all sorts of crafts and sewing and knitting. I took along my ceramic buttons to sell. We had a lovely day, met lots of new people and sold lots of buttons!
I forgot to take my new business cards (der!) as people were asking if I sold my buttons on line. Yes I do and in the next couple of weeks I will be adding more of my range of new buttons to my shop.
The Button Project exhibition is being held at the Macclesfield Silk Museum and runs until early August.There are nearly 300 buttons from designers and makers from all over the UK and the States. All the buttons are for sale as well.I made an arty button from porcelain that was glazed and had a final lustre finish to it. It was a fish leaping in the water, I tried to make it look like it had movement and splashing.It is No 8 in the exhibition if you go ( unfortunately it has been placed on the lower display of buttons and I don’t think you get to see its best view).
Just back from a few days at Watergate bay in Cornwall. Spent many hours walking on the beaches and eating, two of my favourite things.
How’s this for a twist - a savoury cream tea, – cheese scone, cream cheese and onion chutney!
I did of course look at textures and patterns to influence my work.
There was alot more green and black on the beach than I expected, maybe I should look at putting those colours into my sea inspired work.
Looking at pinterest I found a picture of a pallet garden so here is my attempt at one
